The “Heat Revolution for Industry and Commerce Day” focuses on safe, economical, and climate-friendly heat supply for businesses. Organized by the Partnership for Environment and Business, the event will take place on October 28, 2026, at ECOMAT and will offer industrial and commercial enterprises practical solutions as well as the opportunity for direct dialogue with experts.

BIBA is a cooperation partner for the event and, together with the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Bremen-Oldenburg, will participate with a presentation on the transformation of industrial heating processes. The presentation will showcase innovative approaches to the electrification and digitalization of high-temperature process heat.

For the fourth time, EnvoConnect is bringing together the port, logistics, and shipping industry community—once again in Bremen in 2026, the host city for the German Unity Day celebrations. Under the theme “Transformation needs commitment,” the focus is not on declarations of intent, but on attitude and implementation: from intention to action, from awareness to commitment, from individual projects to collective transformation. Two days packed with practical content, inspiring ideas, and concrete solutions bring change to life—for young professionals as well as experienced decision-makers.

Since sustainability plays a key role in logistics research to make a positive contribution to environmental and social responsibility, BIBA is participating in the accompanying trade exhibition with the LogDynamics research network. The latest research findings on improving environmental sustainability in the logistics industry will be presented, which help conserve resources, reduce emissions, and improve the efficiency of logistics processes.

Would you like to see how mushrooms can create a new material? Then sign up for our hands-on workshop at BIBA - the Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik!

In this workshop, you’ll learn what mycelium, the underground network of fungi, can do: It binds waste materials together to form a sturdy, natural material. In our workshop, you’ll make your own candle holder out of mycelium composite. We will show you step by step how the material is created and how to turn it into something beautiful - a hands-on project you can take home and let grow. No prior knowledge is required. This workshop is ideal if you’re curious about sustainability, new materials, and the circular economy.

BIBA is offering this research workshop for young people as part of the MycelCreation project during Sustainability Weeks, in cooperation with the Lilienthal Volunteer Agency and the Lilienthal Children’s Academy.

In August, the world will be looking to Bremen, where numerous events focused on artificial intelligence will take place. We, too, are addressing the topic of AI for small and medium-sized businesses and warmly invite you to the AI Barcamp.

The format is a flexible, open exchange with others that will provide you with inspiration for new approaches in your company. A Barcamp, also known as an “unconference,” has no fixed agenda. There is only one overarching theme: “Identifying and leveraging practical AI potential.” The specific topics to be discussed in depth during the subsequent sessions will be determined collectively at the start of the event. This takes place through so-called session pitches, where everyone can present their topic proposal to attract interested participants to the discussions in the sessions, where, for example, new solution ideas can be developed collaboratively or new projects launched.

The AI Barcamp is organized by the Mittelstand-Digital Center Bremen-Oldenburg and BIBA in cooperation with the German Association for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (BVMW) and the AI Navigator Bremen.
