Showing small and medium-sized enterprises the potential of digital solutions - this was the motto of the "Digitalization Adventure" networking event hosted by the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Bremen-Oldenburg on 9 November 2023. More than 70 participants from the region accepted the invitation and came together at the premises of the Digital Hub Industry e.V. (DHI) to discuss the opportunities and challenges of digitalization.

The event was introduced by Head of Office Daniel Schneider, who welcomed the participants on behalf of the digital hub and then went on to welcome regional and national politicians, such as Kai Stührenberg, State Councillor for Ports at the Senator for Economics, Ports and Transformation. The greetings were followed by a rousing keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Christof Büskens (University of Bremen), who explained practical application examples of artificial intelligence and the connection to industrial mathematics, thus building a bridge to the interactive part of the event.

The participants were able to try out various demonstrators from the partners BIBA and OFFIS on site. Using the example of our "Model Factory 4.0", they learned how digitalized process steps of an ordering, production and delivery process work and how people can work together with robots. There was also an accompanying exhibition in which selected network partners of the center presented their offers for companies.

The big highlight of the afternoon was the World Café, in which entrepreneurs placed their personal questions and discussed the four main topics of sustainability, lifelong learning, digital strategies and new working environments with experts from the Digital Center.
