On August 22, the Maritime Cluster Norddeutschland (MCN) invited its members to a Meet & Greet at BIBA. 25 entrepreneurs accepted this invitation. They informed themselves about the possibilities of digitalization in the maritime industry and dedicated themselves to networking.

In a guided tour of the BIBA research hall, the guests learned how artificial intelligence can be used to optimally plan and control port handling (Isabella 2.0 project) and how they can use digitalization through sensor technology to achieve greater transparency and sustainability in supply chains (SaSCh project). They also learned about the Interactive Robotic System for Emptying Sea Containers developed in the IRiS project, which leads to improvements in the efficiency and ergonomics of handling processes in ports.

These substantive impulses provided a good basis for a stimulating exchange at the subsequent get-together. The guests and the hosts drew a positive balance - the maritime industry is on the digitalization course. Science is happy to support this and is driving digitalization forward in joint projects.
