If the linking of "Lean" and "Green" in companies succeeds, then sustainability becomes sustainable - this was the conclusion of the symposium "Resource Efficiency in Production Processes - Recording, Analysis and Optimization according to Lean & Green Principles", which took place at BIBA on November 24.

The symposium provided food for thought and recommendations for action for more resource efficiency in production processes and demonstrated concrete ways to identify needs for action, make matching prioritizations and ensure sustainable implementation. Keynote and technical sessions covered a spectrum ranging from the recording of greenhouse gas emissions in production, the identification of resource wastage in value chains, renewable energy systems in production systems, and the establishment of a production system as a regulatory framework for sustainability.

The symposium was organized in cooperation of BIBA with the Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Bremen, the U2 Unternehmensberatung & Umsetzungsunterstützung and the Geschäftsstelle Umwelt Unternehmen. Around 25 guests took part.
