On October 10, 2024, a panel discussion on collaborative robotics took place as part of the Mobile Robotics Summit & Logistics Summit, where experts discussed current developments and challenges in the industry. Christoph Petzoldt from BIBA - Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik took part and provided valuable insights into safe and efficient collaboration between humans and robots.

The focus was on topics such as the selection of suitable applications, the flexibilization of production lines and the question of whether humans and robots should coexist or collaborate. Other key points were the design of safe human-robot interaction, the interfaces with employees and the acceptance of the solutions. The challenges for the logistics industry were also discussed and the potential offered by the combination of collaborative robots (cobots) and autonomous mobile robots (AMR) was highlighted. The intensive exchange made it clear that collaborative robotics will continue to play an important role in logistics automation in the future.
