Intelligent Work Ergonomics and Human-Technology Interaction in Automobile Handling

Image: BIBA

Against the background of high physical stress during technical work in automobile handling, BIBA is working in the project MEXOT together with the partners BLG LOGISTICS, ELROTEC and HUNIC on an ergonomic design of workplaces with simultaneous improvement of process efficiency. This is done by combining sensory exoskeletons with intelligent driverless transport vehicles (FTF) to create automatic process- and employee-specific material provisioning, as well as physical relief for the employee. In addition, intuitive methods for interaction and gamification approaches are integrated to increase motivation. Picking, material provisioning and assembly processes are considered, whereby the flexible, block-based process setup makes it easy to transfer the technologies to other use cases. The video uses material provisioning in a laboratory scenario as an example to demonstrate the development status and the interaction of the first prototype subsystems.
