On February 28, 2023, more than 70 guests came to the Digital Hub Industry Bremen to learn about the possible applications of artificial intelligence.

The invitation was extended by the Transfer Center for Artificial Intelligence BREMEN.AI in cooperation with the VDE Region North-West. The Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Bremen was also on site with a team of experts: Under the motto "Port meets AI - A 110-year-old lock becomes intelligent", BIBA presented the intelligent assistance system developed together with Aimpulse Intelligent Systems, which has contributed to the sustainability and digitalization of Bremen's industrial port. Through the predictive planning of artificial intelligence, a great potential for energy efficiency increase was unlocked when the harbor basin is naturally irrigated by the lock during high water. This and other AI projects and demonstrators excited participants and stimulated discussion.

The conclusion was: there is a whole range of AI solutions in and from Bremen. Now the companies are asked to tap this potential for themselves and to use AI in their own processes.
