Lebenslauf

Michael Freitag studierte an der BTU Cottbus Elektrotechnik mit den Schwerpunkten Automatisierungs- und Kommunikationstechnik und promovierte an der Universität Bremen mit einer Arbeit zur Nichtlinearen Dynamik von Produktionssystemen. 2004 übernahm er die Geschäftsführung des Bremer Sonderforschungsbereiches 637 „Selbststeuerung logistischer Prozesse“. 2008 wechselte er in die Industrie und leitete beim Stahlhersteller ArcelorMittal Projekte zur Optimierung logistischer Prozesse. Neben seiner Industrietätigkeit hatte er Lehraufträge an der Jacobs University Bremen. 2014 wurde Freitag zum Professor für Planung und Steuerung produktionstechnischer und logistischer Systeme im Fachbereich Produktionstechnik der Universität Bremen berufen. 2015 wurde er zum Direktor des BIBA - Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik GmbH ernannt. Seit 2022 ist Freitag Sprecher des Bremen Research Cluster for Dynamics in Logistics (LogDynamics).
